CTD Operator (School Year)

Time Commitment:

  • 8-10 hours per week

  • Every Friday (all day; usually 6AM to 4PM), October 2019 - May 2020, with occasional other dates, pending availability


Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute a Career Test Drive for 8-16 students each cycle. Each Fair has 3-4 cycles and involves direct instruction, supervision, and recap of the simulation and career pathway

  • Assist BridgeYear team in all set up and clean up of Career Test Drive Fairs

  • Provide regular feedback on how to improve the Career Test Drive experience for students



  • Current college student

  • Must be detail-oriented and efficient. Moving with urgency and flexibility is key

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must have transportation around greater Houston to different Career Test Drive Fair sites

  • Must have general availability to work Fridays (all day) between March - December (schedule pending)

  • Experience working in a mentor/teaching capacity is preferred

  • Experience with community college is a plus - but not a requirement

  • Bilingual speaking ability is a plus - but not a requirement

  • Must be willing to lift at least 35 pounds and be on feet all day


Compensation: CTD Operators will receive a competitive stipend for each CTD Fair worked, starting at $10/hour. For every 5 Fairs worked, Operators will receive a $0.50/hour raise, for a maximum of $12/hour. Each Fair (including set up and clean up) will be approximately 8-10 hours/day. CTD Operators receive a $50 stipend after working their first two CTD Fairs to compensate for their training. In addition, lunch is provided at every fair.
